It’s that time again…summer vacation! Although this year I did not go anywhere I did have a very wonderful visit from my father that lives in Maryland. However next summer we would like to be the ones to go visit him. I saw this opportunity to write a post about visiting Virginia Beach which is very close to Maryland and thought this would be perfect for us!
I grew up in Chesapeake, Virginia when I was just a tot but have no memory of it so that is one reason why I would love to visit now as an adult.
Our family loves the beach we live near Galveston, TX this is the Gulf of Mexico and it’s not as clean as the East or West Coast so seeing some cleaner water would be nice!
My fiancé loves to fish and if you check out the Virginia Beach website you will see that there are lots of places to do some fishing.
We do have kids so the activities they offer are very important when planning a family vacation. And according to the Virginia Beach website they have plenty to keep them busy.
Both my father and future father in law were in the Navy and I learned on the Virginia Beach website that there is a US Navy’s Master Jet Base which I’m sure all my boys would really enjoy.
One of my favorite things to do shopping! Virginia Beach has one of the largest malls there is on the East Coast. Lynnhaven Mall offers over 1.4 MILLION SQUARE FEET OF SHOPPING!! That’s right ladies that is a lot of damage we can do while having a wonderful vacation haha!!
Coming from the gulf coast we love our seafood and I have heard so much about how great the seafood is on the East Coast and I am drooling just thinking about all the yummy food we can enjoy!
Since Virginia Beach is so close to Maryland this is one of the most important reasons I would like to visit. I know we can find some great lodging from rental homes to hotels that they offer for a night or two and be close enough to stay with my father and father in law not far in Washington D.C as well.
Virginia Beach is full of entertainment for adults as well including outdoor stages, performing arts, comedy clubs and live music. So not only to they entertain the kiddos but seems like us adults will have plenty to do also.
Final reason I would like to visit Virginia Beach is to have a wonderful vacation with my family and this seems like just the place we need to visit!
As you have seen from my opinions and on the Virginia Beach website there is something for everyone young and old. Whether you just want to relax on the beach or have a night out they have it all! I can’t wait to start planning my next family vacation. Virginia Beach will definitely be on the list of places to visit.
