Meet and Greet with Chris Donnelly

It’s Monday yet again beginning of a new week, a fresh start. Were you “good” over the weekend? I was ok I could have been better but it’s a constant battle for me just like it is for many of you. This past Friday I was invited by Pamela Kramer from A Renaissance Woman to meet Chris Donnelly from The Journey TV. Karen A Nelson from Design with Your Dime in Mind opened up her lovely home to us as we were wined and dined thanks to Kroger and Mirassou. This event couldn't have came at a better time. It left me with the extra motivation I needed to keep it up!

We started off with a delicious Caprese Salad {roma tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, salt, pepper, sweet basil, and balsamic vinegar reduction}. It was so delicious and so easy to make. I will be making this in the very near future.

For the main course we were served beef tenderloin on top of a potato cake and asparagus on the side. {These pictures do not do these dishes justice whatsoever}

After the delicious meal we all opened our ears to hear the amazing story Chris Donnelly had to share with us about his journey on how he has lost over 100 lbs. How did he do it you ask? Well he did anything and everything he wanted to do including the Iron Man Texas last year.

The Journey TV captures and shares all types of athletes on their own journey. Chris talked about his journey with CrossFit and how much it has helped him. What is Crossfit? CrossFit is the principal strength and conditioning program for many police academies and tactical operations teams, military special operations units, champion martial artists, and hundreds of other elite and professional athletes worldwide. With that said, the all encompassing fitness benefits of CrossFit can be experienced by anyone. After hearing all of this I have decided that I will be giving CrossFit a try!

At then end of the evening we got to enjoy this lovely cake made by Christina Wedell.....it was a sweet ending to an evening of great conversations and company.
